Tearsxjoy is the alias of Thomas Wright III. Hailing from Brooklyn, New York, the 22-year-old multi-hyphenate takes the beauty and brutality coexisting within the world around him and transforms it into music and visuals that aren't just heard and seen, but felt and experienced.
TearsxJoy (“Tears of Joy”) isn’t just a name; it’s an oxymoron, a paradox, and a mission statement. It represents the emotional whiplash of surviving in a world that breaks you and builds you at the same time. Each track is a cathartic swing between hope and heartbreak, rebellion and reflection.

Tearsxjoy's creative approach draws close to the tension between beauty and distortion. The music is both cinematic and angsty, made up of ethereal soundscapes that are often met with an edge within the production, indicative of T's experimental influences. Known for a stylistic approach in his production that blends intimacy with expansion, Tearsxjoy typically uses space to his advantage to build feeling out of layers.
After fostering his skills as a session musician and studio personnel as a teenager under the alias TNT TYB and collaborating with many artists across New York City and DC, Tearsxjoy is a polymath musician, focused on blocking out the noise of an oversaturated music industry and paving his own lane.
With the recently released debut EP, senescence and sophomore EP Dying of Self set to drop late 2026, he's making a point to build a world of his own. Tearsxjoy is currently working closely with director and writer, Oscar Federici to compose the scores for two feature films set to release in 2027 and 2028.
